Following the success of our 2016/2017 inaugural Fish Food Program, (see River Garden Farms is Making Fish Food) River Garden Farms is once again contributing to the revitalization of fish food on the traditional flood plain in the Sacramento Valley.
Kicking off this 2017/18 Fish Food Program Season, River Garden Farms hosted an event (see sideshow above) to celebrate and commemorate the broad partnerships and important relations that have emerged throughout California to support this program and make it possible.
The evening began as our guests gathered at the River Garden Farms office, then embarking on a tour (via tractor-pulled hay ride!) to view the fields and discuss the fish food program for the upcoming year. We also shared the preliminary results from our pilot 2016/2017 season that were so encouraging that we were inspired to continue on with this project
Following the tour was a celebratory dinner, featuring food from local favorite Buckhorn Steakhouse as well as lively enthusiastic conversation by all in attendance. The evening proved to be a great way to kick off the season!
