River Garden Farms partners with the Center for Land-Based Learning through the non-profit organization’s Student and Landowner Education and Watershed Stewardship (SLEWS) program in an effort to teach inner-city high school students about the importance of habitat restoration on working farm lands. The SLEWS days are a series of hands-on field projects that develop science skills and environmental stewardship in youth.
River Garden Farms staff and scientists involved in the program work with the students on real projects that not only give back to the environment but help create interactive learning experiences and foster teambuilding. River Garden Farms has been involved with the SLEWS program since 2017. We are proud to help educate and inspire our leaders of tomorrow.
